Anders Sandberg attempts to answer the all important question; Can toroid planets exist?
A toroid is a figure that is, and I’m oversimplifying here, the shape of a doughnut. You’ll have to pardon me but when I think of this question I can’t help but reword the question; Can we have Halo?
Anyway, Sandberg really digs into it on his super-nerdy blog. I recommend looking it over if only to see whether or not a doughnut shaped version of Earth could ever have a moon. The answer may surprise you.
